Join us for a one-of-a-kind, hands-on Beginners Workshop that celebrates the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi, where cracks are deliberately filled with gold, turning once-broken ceramics into stunning masterpieces. This introductory session uses modern, easy-to-learn techniques to blend the traditional philosophy with practical crafting, ensuring beautiful results for everyone.

Led by Amelia Bedson, a professional restorer with a Masters in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, this workshop will guide you step-by-step through the process. You will be given your own toolkit for the session and learn how to safely break pottery and repair it using gold, embracing the flaws to make unique art. You will work on two ceramic pieces provided by us, or once comfortable with the technique, you are welcome to attempt to repair a small, cherished ornament of your own (Amelia will advise on suitability).
